Community investment drives upgraded location in Radford

RADFORD, VA. (April 15, 2026) — Tire Discounters, the country’s largest 100% family-owned and operated tire and service provider, is opening a newly renovated and expanded store in Radford, bringing a larger facility, increased service capacity and improved customer access to the area.

The expansion reflects Tire Discounters’ continued investment in the communities it serves. The newly renovated location preserves a trusted local presence while introducing the expanded space, amenities and service capacity associated with the Tire Discounters brand.

Customers will benefit from Tire Discounters’ industry-leading service model, which includes lifetime tire rotation and balancing, free tire repairs, roadside assistance, inspections and additional services designed to help extend tire life, improve vehicle performance and deliver long-term value.

Formerly known as Thompson Tire, the business has relocated to a larger, updated building that increases service bays from six to eight and adds significantly more parking. Customers will notice it’s easier to enter and exit the property, and the new enhanced layout will allow the team to serve more vehicles each day.

“This investment is about building on what the Radford community already values, while bringing in the resources and scale that allow us to serve customers even better,” said Evan Wood, VP of Operations at Tire Discounters. “We’re proud to carry forward a local legacy while offering the upgraded facility and service experience people expect from Tire Discounters.”

The Radford location is now officially operating under the Tire Discounters name and will offer the full range of tire and automotive services.
